It's my birthday, and that's the only thing this post is about.

In celebration of my birthday, several fine and wondrous authors got together and wrote books to come out ON MY BIRTHDAY, so I would not be in desire of any reading materials or happy endings.

Lorraine Heath's WHEN THE DUKE WAS WICKED is about...I'm not sure. Apparently a wicked duke. Lorraine Heath has become one of my autobuys so I don't have to look too close. I know I adored her previous series; and I think this may be the start of a new series. I'm looking forward to reading it!

Monica McCarty's THE RAIDER is another in her series of the Highland Guard, which is like Navy SEAL ops set in early 1300s Scotland. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. It's like having a dose of Braveheart twice a year--just lovely.

Tiffany Clare's newest THE SCANDALOUS DUKE TAKES A BRIDE also comes out on my birthday. I love the color! Red, the color of passion, and definitely the hallmark of a Tiffany Clare novel.

When I'm not nose-deep in a book, I'll be watching THOR 2: THE DARK WORLD, where Loki looks all scrumptious and darling--I forgot what a little git he was in THE AVENGERS, so it's nice to see better "qualities" of him in this movie. Well, as far as Loki is able to allow himself to have good qualities.

The only other thing on the agenda for the birthday is a hair cut...I am entertaining the thought of bangs, longish ones, but definitely something to sweep decently across my brow. I have a lot of hair going on and no style. Which mind you, it's nice to have hair, don't get me wrong.

So what do you wish for my birthday today? :)

  1. Happy Birthday Hellie!

Perhaps you could put those knife skills to good use and cook a meal to send your loved ones into rhapsodies of pleasure. You're only 21 once in a lifetime after all, so make it memorable! :)

I like Lorraine Heath's books so I will read this one and imagine myself as the Wicked Duke and you as Lady Grace .... you do have a massive inheritance right?

Looking forward to hearing your verdict. LOL

  2. Happy Birthday, Hellie!!!

I think you should arrange for a massage. No better time to treat yourself than on your birthday.

I think it is awfully nice of all those authors to think of you today. I'm sitting by my mailbox anxiously awaiting Robyn Carr's newest that also happens to come out today (I wonder if she knew it was your birthday, too).

I think I might try your Monica McCarty series. Ever since seeing previews for OUTLANDER I've been longing for some Scottish action. I just can't seem to fill my period piece viewing habit - PBS and BBC just can't seem to keep up! Just finished watching the last of DOWNTON ABBEY for the season and am a bit sad. Although, I am happy the new season of CALL THE MIDWIFE is due out next month. I did miss the Christmas episode so I'll have to figure out a way to get a hold of that beforehand.

  3. I'm sorry for my absence, but I've had a cold this week and have been in a Nyquil haze.

Q, I'll try to make my 21st birthday as memorable as possible, thank you!! *LOL* And of course, I have a massive...inheritance. :) Heath's book was VERY good. I'll have a review about it on The Romance Dish soon!

Irish, I agree that I should totally arrange for a massage. It's been almost 3 months since I've had one...I'm getting anxious. *LOL* I finished Heath's book and am now starting on McCarty's newest--loving it so far. And I cannot wait for CALL THE MIDWIFE to come back on! MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PBS SHOW! I've already preordered it...like back in December. *LOL*
